ANDREW DITLEVSON
Andrew Ditlevson resides in Jeromesville, Ohio. He completed his
undergraduate degree in fine arts at Ashland University in the
winter of 2005. While continuing his studies at Ashland University,
Andrew has continued to produce new art work. This work has
built upon themes which have been prevalent throughout his career
as an artist.
His figurative work has included themes of alienation and the
introspection of humanity. More recently he has explored specific
narratives that reflect popular culture, environmentalism and the
effects of organized religion in the U.S. Although the content of
many of his paintings have become specific and aggressive, his
palette has become broader, creating a tension between the heavy
themes and the variety of rich color.
Andrew's abstract work is derived primarily from his observations
of rural Ashland County. Growing up unfamiliar to many of these
sights has provided him with a fresh perspective to paint typical
rural objects from a subjective standpoint.
