BILL DAVIDSON
I studied commercial and fine art at Youngstown University, the Cleveland
Art Institute and Cooper's in Cleveland where I graduated with honors. I've
done free-lance advertising, illustration, and product design for American
Greetings, Hallmark, Gibson, Current, Enesco, Applause, and other
corporations. Currently I'm creating abstract and stylized paintings,
designing room interiors, and practicing the fine art of inn keeping with my
bride of 40 years at our historic bed & breakfast, the Winfield, in Ashland,
Ohio.
Whether I'm creating a room interior, an illustration or a painting, my
beginnings are always the same - a war of strong, colliding opposites. So
the great creative quest then is to find appropriate bridges, or harmonies,
that will gently tame but not obliterate the very chaotic excitement that
makes the clash so alive. Finally the ultimate success and pleasure of each
work is determined by the rigor or restraint used in manipulating those
fragile, all-important bridges.
