For the past several years I have been making huge flower sculptures.
Inspired by nature and the amazing paintings of Georgia O’Keefe, I enjoy
creating my own flower forms. Using the concept of “flower” I create fanciful
imaginary flowers to delight and excite the viewer. I am not interested in
making some lofty artistic statement, but rather to lift people out of their
comfort zones and into an unreal landscape where the flowers loom large and
everything else pales in comparison, leaving behind the cares and concerns
of our busy daily lives. I want my work to engender joy and a sense of
wonder much like Alice must have felt in Wonderland when “she was so small.
One can experience a momentary escape from reality which has a calming
and lightening effect on the psyche.

when she learned to tie knots (macrame). Gail’s first exhibition as a

she has completed numerous commissions for residential, corporate and
government clients. In 2003 she installed two 14 foot tall free-standing flower
