GINNY BAUGHMAN
Ginny Baughman has loved art all her life. She graduated
from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a
cer¬tificate to teach art. After this she worked to refine her
drawing and painting skills and sold com¬missions of buildings in
central Ohio and all over the U.S. She has also taught a variety
of art subjects to all ages of students since 1997. In 2004 she
graduated from OSU with her Master’s degree in Art Education,
by completing a thesis based on the history of drawing. In 2006
Ginny decided to change course with her art and began to
investigate feminine issues through unusual paintings and
sculptures.
Ginny was born and raised in Ohio. She draws most of her
ideas for her work from her life as a woman, wife and mother. She
and her husband live and work in Westerville, Ohio, where they
have raised two children: Aaron and Lydia.
Ginny has been teaching classes and workshops in drawing,
painting and other arts for over 10 years. She has taught classes
at a variety of venues instructing students of all ages from
preschool through adult. While touching hundreds of students,
her classes continue to help her develop as an artist as she is
continually being energized and influenced by her teaching
experiences.
In her recent work Ginny continues to use her feminine
experiences as an influence for her work. She uses a variety of
media including painting, relief and found object sculpture, as
well as book arts and paper sculpture for her work. Over the past
year she has had work in several art exhibits both locally and
nationally.
