| Kirsten Bowen |
Kirsten Bowen is a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and
Design. From 1989 to 1992 she lived in New York City and worked as
a carpet designer for clients including Elizabeth Eakins and the Plaza
Hotel. She later found work in the garment district as a textile
designer, creating patterns for manufacturers based in Manhattan.
She began her own textile design business creating designs for
children's clothing and representing other artists. From 1989 to 1992,

Kirsten found representation in New York to continue to produce and
sell her designs and return to Ohio to raise a family. As the fashion
industry changed, the need for another source of art business became
necessary. Kirsten studied and trained as a faux finisher and spent the
next twelve years working in private residences painting murals and
wall designs. Her work has been seen in the New Albany Parade of
Homes, four or five B.I.A. Parade of Homes Columbus, at least two
Designers Showcases, and is still being published in Columbus
Monthly and Executive Homes.
In 2003 Kirsten opened the Kirsten Bowen Gallery in Bexley Ohio,
showcasing photography, paintings, and sculpture by Ohio's rising
artists. The gallery was called "possibly one of the city's most
important galleries" by the Other Paper. Kirsten is now at the easel full
time and has a studio in Cincinnati's Pendleton Art center and is proud
to be represented by the Bonfoey Gallery in Cleveland Ohio and Art
101 Gallery in Medina.
