From the time I could hold a pencil, I became an avid drawer.  My
favorite subject then was animals, which was always presented in realistic
detail.  As I grew, my attention turned to drawing people.  As the years
past, my love of drawing grew to include painting.  After marriage and the
raising of my son, Andy, I once again turned to my love of art. I became
fascinated by murals and enthralled by the dramatic change they can
make in any surrounding.
I am totally self-taught in the field of art. I feel that art is a gift that one is
given.  I readily practice my God given talent. When my husband Ed and I
built our home in 1990, all the walls were painted white.  After seeing
what murals can do to a space, and getting very tired of white walls, I
decided to use my own house as my canvas.  I painted a jungle theme in
the laundry room, complete with a giraffe, zebra, leopard, snakes,
orangutan and lemurs.  There’s even a parrot flying overhead.  Proud of
my accomplishment, I continued to add more murals to my my home.
When my son’s Catholic school heard about my painting efforts, I was
asked to paint some religious murals there.  From the response of the
school murals, the Akron Beacon Journal was notified of my work and a
story followed.  The morning of the story, my phone began to ring with
eager clients.  “I HAD to start a business then.”  All this led to a
flourishing business in the world of mural painting.
Along with traditional murals, I do paintings. I can also paint individual
birds, animals, or people on canvas which is then cut out around the
design.  The canvas is then placed on the wall by means of an adhesive.
The murals can be done in the comfort of my own home without
interrupting the day of the client.  The murals can even be taken down
and moved if the client wishes.
My clients have included LeBron James. I can be heard as a guest on
the WAKR radio show “My Beautiful Home”.  I was also contacted by the
Rachael Ray Show for an upcoming episode. One of my most recent
achievements was a 60 foot mural of the Last Supper which appeared on
channel 3 News.
“All my life I made things, from clothes to custom cornices for my home.
Of all the things I‘ve designed, painting has been the most fulfilling.  I
start with a blank wall or canvas and turn it into something grand that can
be enjoyed for years to come.”
