The artist has painted numerous works in various mediums, but her favorite is oils. She paints
most of her landscapes on location,” en plein air“, a French term meaning in the open air. Ruth Ann
has always had a great love for the outdoors and has found a winning combination of getting to
create her art while soaking up the ambiance that nature so freely offers; be it the healing warmth
of the sun, misty fog, or sparkling diamonds in the freshly-fallen snow. Other elements like strong
winds, bugs, and curious on-lookers, are also a part of the total experience that make it so unique.
Ruth Ann competed at the first Art at the Arnold, a new addition to the Annual Arnold’s Sports
Festival, held in Columbus, OH and her painting was chosen as a finalist. She is among the
selected artists to compete again in 2011, as well as being included in the “Masterworks in
Miniature “ at Gallery One, in Mentor, Ohio, for the fourth straight year. Her work recently
appeared in the online edition of American Artist and the cover of Arts-to-Arts Palette. STUDIOS
Magazine 2011, by American Artist, featured a 2- page spread of her studio and art.
Her work can be found in many private, as well as corporate collections. The artist’s original
ornaments are a part of the permanent collection of The White House, and the Governor of Ohio’s
residence.

vice president of the Ohio Plein Air Society.
